EDINBURGH

A taxi driver delayed passengers on an Edinburgh tram when she popped to get a snack from McDonald's, leaving her vehicle on the city's tram lines.

She left her car on the tram tracks, blocking it for 10 minutes while she bought breakfast from the fast food store.

When she realised what she'd done the cabbie dashed out to her car, did a U-turn and blocked the tracks on the opposite street to carry on eating her breakfast.

This picture was passed onto the council, who have said they will take it to the transport department for further review.

Council transport convener Lesley Hinds told the Daily Record: "I will pass the pictures to the taxi office for their action."

It was the third time in recent weeks that a vehicle has blocked the city's £776million tram network, which is currently under review.
