Manchester Piccadilly Station, Taxi rank, to switch from swipe access cards to Electronic vehicle tags by October.

This will obviously cost the trade somehow, but lets wait and see.

One advantage will a reduction in Vehicle numbers as drivers realize that vehicle, drivers hours etc will be recorded. The current system allows anybody, identifiable or not, to use a prepaid card to access the service.

There will no doubt more to surface before October, I will try to keep you posted.
