Taxileaks refer to an article published some time ago given by John Griffin of Addisson Lee fame
Read the article, its worth it.
“Electric cars are the biggest nonsense in the history of time”
The mere sound of anything close to electric cars gets on Griffin’s nerves. He cannot stand the sight of the 2,313 electric cars and 400 charge points across London.
“The electric vehicles are the biggest nonsense ever, in the history of time,” he says. “Where’s the power? We are buying electricity off France today and we have nothing. We don’t have fossil fuels and the analogy we can rely on windmills is a complete farce.”
I ask: “But then why is Boris banging on about how good they are for London?”
“Boris actually asked me what I think of the electric cars and I told him don’t go there. Boris said ‘what can I do?’ In other words, ‘I cannot stand against this because it’s just a tide of emotional belief that you can’t say no.’
“Politicians dare not tell the public the truth, it’s a subject that can bring a party down. So the politicians avoid it, they mislead you to believing these silly cars are London’s future,” he says.

Griffin isn’t just sitting around and demonising the electric cars though. He’s got a plan of action to “unveil the truth”.
“I am putting together a presentation with my health and safety department to tell the public that you’re being deluded and abrasively lied to. The people putting these cars on the road should be in prison and I am going to tell the world that,” he announces.

Norwich Police/Taxi smash.
A police van heading out to deal with an emergency call was involved in a crash with a taxi on one of Norwich’s main roads.
The collision - which as these dramatic pictures show left the van sprawled on its side - happened on the A140 Boundary Road at about 6.50pm on Tuesday.
Nobody was seriously injured but the road was shut for several hours, leaving motorists facing lengthy delays and diversions.
A Norfolk police spokesman said: “It happened at about 6.50pm on A140 Boundary Road at the junction with Aylsham Road. It involved a police vehicle and a taxi.
“The police vehicle, a Ford Transit Connect, was responding to an emergency call at the time involving another unrelated road traffic collision.
“The male driver of the taxi sustained neck pain, but was otherwise unhurt and did not need treatment. The male driver of the police car sustained a minor injury to his arm. These two individuals were the only occupants in the vehicles concerned and no-one else was hurt or involved.”
Evening News and EDP photographer Bill Smith went to the scene of the crash.
He said: “The collision appeared to have happened in the centre of the junction, the police van turned on its side and travelled a considerable distance. Thankfully no-one was seriously hurt.”
Two fire crews, one from Earlham and one from Sprowston, also attended the scene, and the road was reopened following the night of drama just before 10pm.
Police have confirmed that the crash the police van had been responding to happened at about 6.20pm on Station Road, in Coltishall, and involved one vehicle. Nobody is believed to have been injured. One fire crew from Sprowston attended.

The two-vehicle crash resulted in one driver being taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital with leg and back injuries. Fire crews from Wymondham and Hethersett attended to help make the scene safe.
Just after 2.30pm there was a crash involving a red Vauxhall Tigra and a blue Citroën Saxo on Deloney Road in Norwich. The ambulance service treated one person for minor injuries at the scene of the crash, and a fire crew from Sprowston also attended.
